Thailand became the new champion of the VTV International Women’s Volleyball Cup and walked away with 10,000 USD in cash prize after defeating China's Liaoning 3-1 in the final match.
The volleyball tournament took place in the southern province of Bac Lieu from July 24 to August 1, drawing the participation of 6 teams from Vietnam, China’s Liaoning and Nanjing provinces, Thailand, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the Philippines.
China’s Liaoning received 7,000 USD prize as a runner-up.
Meanwhile, Vietnamese team was honoured with a fair play prize and the consolation prize went to China’s Nanjing.
Setter Nguyen Linh Chi was presented with the Miss Volleyball title and the best outside hitter title came to two Thai players.-VNA
