Hanoi (VNA) – One police officer was killed and another was wounded in abomb blast in Thailand’s southern province of Yala on November 21.
Accordingto investigation agencies, a bomb was planted under a traffic sign in Saikaewvillage of Yala province and was activated when police came to the area.
Thepolice said the bomb was activated by radio waves, but the criminal has yet tobe determined.
Theprolonged religious conflicts in more than 10 years have provoked violence inthe Thai southern provinces of Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat and Songkhla. Attacks in the region have killed about 6,600 people so far, mainlycivilians.-VNA.
