Swimmer Anh Vien wins another medal at Youth Olympics

Swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien on August 19 won a silver at the women’s 800m freestyle at the second Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing city, China.
Swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien on August 19 won a silver at the women’s800m freestyle at the second Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing city,China.

Earlier on August 17, the teenager won agold medal in the women's 200m individual medley category with a time of2:12.66. This helped her become the first Vietnamese athlete to qualifyfor the Rio 2016 Olympics in Brazil .

The 13-dayGames opened on August 16 with the participation of 3,800 athletes from204 countries and territories competing in 28 sports.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day
