Hanoi (VNA) – Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah ofBrunei began his state-level visit to Vietnam on March 26 at the invitation ofPresident Nguyen Phu Trong.

The three-day trip takes place in the context of Vietnam-Bruneidiplomatic relations, first established in 1992, growing favourably across bilateraland multilateral levels. In particular, political trust between the twocountries has been improved thanks to the organisation of regular delegationexchanges and high-level meetings.

This is the Sultan’s second official visit to Vietnam injust over two decades. It aims to enhance the bilateral friendship and fostermultilateral cooperation towards celebrations for the 30th anniversary of diplomaticties coming up in 2022.–VNA
