Thanh Hoa (VNA) – Songwriter Mew Amazing Duc Hung scooped up three prizes at the award ceremony of the 11th Devotion Music Awards co-held by the Vietnam News Agency’s daily The Thao & Van Hoa (Sport and Culture) and FLC Group in the central province of Thanh Hoa on April 24.

With boisterous and funny melody, the song “That bat ngo”, performed by singer Truc Nhan and directed by Nhu Dang, fetched the young musician the Best Song of the Year award and Best Music Video award.

In humorous tone, “That bat ngo” is a satirical knife to carve up the current situation of the entertainment industry. It has left a lasting impression on audiences.

Mew Amazing Duc Hung also won the Best Musician of the Year.

Meanwhile, Tien Tien became the New Artist of the Year with such hot hits as “My everything”, “Say You Do” and “Vi toi con song” (Because I’m alive) while Son Tung M-TP won the Best Singer of the Year award.

The Best Album of the Year went to “Bong toi Jazz” by Giang Son, Tran Thu Ha and Tung Duong. The album helps diversify Vietnamese jazz songs while giving a breath of fresh air to Vietnamese jazz with a mixture of soul, funk and pop music.

With high-quality music, “Thap ky hoan ca” by Tung Duong won the Best Television Music Show award.

Triumphing “Bai hat Viet” (Vietnamese songs), “Giai dieu tu hao” (Melodies of Pride) and “The Remix”, “Monsoon Music Festival 2015” became the owner of the Best Music Programme Series award.

According to Le Xuan Thanh, Editor-in chief of the The Thao & Van Hoa newspaper, besides famous artists with significant achievements like Hong Nhung, Tran Thu Ha, Giang Son, Duc Tuan and Ha Anh Tuan; this year’s awards also saw the nominations of young faces, including Tien Tien, Toc Tien, Van Mai Huong, Son Tung M-TP, Truc Nhan, Issac and Touliver who brought fresh and amazing styles to the music market.

The glittering ceremony at the FLC Sam Son Beach and Golf Resort also featured stellar performances to commemorate ten musicians who made great contributions to Vietnamese music, including Tran Van Khe, Nguyen Thien Dao, Han Ngoc Bich, Phan Huynh Dieu, Phan Nhan, An Thuyen, Thanh Tung, Tran Lap, Luong Minh and Nguyen Anh 9.

Initiated in 2004 by the newspaper, the annual Devotion Music Awards celebrate the innovative efforts of the country’s most dedicated musicians and singers. Nominees are chosen by 100 cultural journalists based on their creativity and practical contribution to public music.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi
