SEA Games 31: Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian rowers win gold

Hai Phong (VNA) – Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Huonggrabbed a gold medal in the women’s 500m canoeing singles at SEA Games 31 on May20.

Meanwhile, in the women’s 500m doubles, Vietnam claimed a bronze. Thai rowers secured a gold, and Indonesian athletes earned a silver.

Vietnam fetched a silver in the women’s 500m kayak doubles. The gold medal went to Indonesia.

The canoeing/kayak competitions will continue in thenorthern port city of Hai Phong on May 21.

SEA Games 31, themed “For a Stronger SoutheastAsia”, features 40 sports with 523 events. The biennial event was initiallyslated for late 2021 but delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Games will run until May 23./.

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

A cultural festival has been held in Uijeongbu city of the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Gyeonggi province to mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Association (VWA) in the country.

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

Vietnam attends UNESCO Executive Board’s 220th session in France
