Quang Ninh (VNA) – The Vietnamese women’s indoorvolleyball team delighted home fans with two consecutive wins at the ongoing SEAGames 31.
Vietnam won 3-0 over Malaysia in a match held in the northeasternprovince of Quang Ninh on May 16.
The hosts defeated Indonesia 3-1 in their first match.
At 5pm on May 17, Vietnam will play Thailand, who are among the favourites to win the championship and in top 12 teams worldwide.
SEA Games 31, themed “For a Stronger South East Asia”, isbeing held in Hanoi and 11 neighbouring provinces and cities until May 23.
It features 40 sports with 523 events, attracting around10,000 participants. The biennial event was initially slated for late 2021 butdelayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic./.
