Hanoi (VNA) - The Science Film Festival 2021, organised by Germany’s GoetheInstitute, is calling for submission until April 10.

The festival will take place from October 1 to December 20 with thetheme “Better health through betterunderstanding” in the context of the ongoing globalCOVID-19 pandemic.

Given the crisis, physical and mentalwell-being are more important than ever, and this is why bringing these issuesout into the open, especially at this time, is so important, and why theScience Film Festival has turned its focus to health and mental health thisyear.

Filmmakers, producers, distributors,and broadcasters can submit works via an online application form, with a registration deadline of April10.

The Science Film Festival is acelebration of science communication in Southeast Asia, South Asia, Africa, theMiddle East, and Latin America. In cooperation with local partners, it promotesscience literacy and facilitates awareness of contemporary scientific,technological, and environmental issues through international films withaccompanying educational activities. The event has grown considerably since itsfirst edition in 2005, becoming the largest event of its kind worldwide.

The Science Film Festival 2020 attractedover 800,000 people in 27 countries in these regions. Amid COVID-19, many filmswere screened online, with 200,000 views./.

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

A cultural festival has been held in Uijeongbu city of the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Gyeonggi province to mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Association (VWA) in the country.

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

More than 70,000 women from across the capital city of Hanoi dressed up in Ao dai (traditional long dress) and participated in a folk dance ensemble on October 20 to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi and the 94th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union.

Vietnam attends UNESCO Executive Board’s 220th session in France
