Vice Chairman of theprovincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Quoc Thaisaid that the event will take place across the whole province withvarious cultural activities, the highlight of which will be the 2014 HaLong Carnival on the evening of April 30.
The carnival, theeighth of its kind in the province, will include a wide range ofactivities such as fireworks and art performances by local and foreignart troupes. The event aims to celebrate the province’s culture,tourism and cuisine, particularly in Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO-recognisedWorld Natural Heritage site.
A cherry blossom festival, a Ha Long trade and tourism fair and other art programmes are included in the tourism week.-VNA
