Quang Nam (VNA) – The central province of Quang Nam, which hosts the National Tourism Year 2022, has taken steps to upgrade its tourism products, destinations, tourism services and accommodation facilities since the beginning of the year so as to provide the best services to visitors.

According to Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Thanh Hong, the National Tourism Year-Quang Nam 2022 is the first in a series of events to promote tourism recovery and development of the country in general and Quang Nam in particular after a long period of heavy impacts by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is also a chance to promote tourism connectivity and cooperation among cities and provinces with tourism potential and strengths, he added.

Phan Ho, Director of the Management Board of the World Cultural Heritage Site of My Son, said that in order to prepare for the National Tourism Year 2022, right from the end of 2021, after successfully piloting the welcoming of international tourists , the site has prepared conditions to receive visitors safely.

He said a new product at the site, the "Legendary Night of My Son" programme, is expected to be a unique product that will be able to attract a large number of tourists, especially international visitors.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lan, Director of the Phu Ninh eco-tourism site, said that the site is designing more products for tourists, while coordinating with partners to hold tourism events and expanding services for visitors to experience the nature in the wood and on Phu Ninh lake.

Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hoi An city Nguyen Van Son said that the ancient town is reviving its tourism with joint efforts of local government and businesses as well as cooperation of other localities such as Hue, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. He underlined that connection and shared interest and responsibility among business community is key to boost sustainable tourism development.

Other tourist sites of Quang Nam have also joined hands in enhancing the tourism service quality and get ready to welcome tourists.

Hong affirmed that Quang Nam is doing its best to promote the image of the land and people of Vietnam in general and Quang Nam in particular, thus attracting more domestic and foreign tourists./.
