The Buddhistfestival, which fell on March 14-16 (on the 17th-19th dayof second lunar month), honours Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, while praying forpeace and prosperity for the country.
The festival includes incense-offeringceremony, traditional boat- racing, a praying ceremony, Buddhism indoctrination,and exhibitions of paintings, photos and calligraphy.
Listed among the country’s 15 biggestfestivals since 2000, the festival has become a spiritual tourism product of DaNang, welcoming Buddhist followers from across Vietnam.
It contributes to preserving the national cultural identities and promoting DaNang’s tourism to domestic and foreign visitors.
Quan The Am Pagoda, built in 1957, is located atthe foot of the Kim Son (Metal Mountain) in the Ngu Hanh Son (Five ElementMountains), which boasts wonderful natural landscapes with several ancientpagodas, mysterious caves and picturesque scenery.-VNA
