Hanoi (VNA) - Artists from Asiancountries and territories will have a chance to get to know moreabout the German culture through the Crossing Bordersprogramme, the Goethe Institute Vietnam has announced.
Authors, filmmakers and photographers ofall ages from Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Japan, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwanand China can now apply for research grants from the Robert BoschFoundation and the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin, the Germany’s culturalinstitute in Hanoi said.
The aim of the programme is to support creativeprojects that break existing stereotypes and open a broad perspectiveon the diversity and multifaceted character of Germany to a larger public, itsaid.
Research grants can be applied for literary andessay prose works, poetry, photo-textbooks, children and young adultliterature, scripts for documentary and feature films, radio programmes andmultimedia productions.
An independent jury will select projects for thegrant from the incoming applications. The results will be declaredeither by mid-July or end of January 2019. The grant expects a high degree ofself-responsibility.
The organisers will not offerextensive supervision, but will assist in research of relevantplaces, such as institutions, and provide contacts in Germany as faras possible.
In addition to the publication of the CrossingBorders projects, grants can also be applied for the presentation of theseworks at public events. Applications are to be sent to the LiterarischesColloquium Berlin.
One project leader, male orfemale, should be named, to be the contact person for the RobertBosch Foundation and responsible for the project. In such cases, only oneapplication form needs to be filled. The resume and details of the otherparticipants should be attached along with the application. The grant for theresearch can be applied only by one person. After every rejection onecan always apply anew.
Applicants, who have already received a CrossingBorders grant, can apply again, after the research for the firstproject is completed. The research report and the financial billingfor the used grant must be successfully carried out. However,first-time applicants will be preferred.
The amount of grant will depend on the durationof the research and can be up to 9,300 EUR. The detailed calculationcan be done easily with the help of the online application form. Theapplication deadline is between September 1 and October 31 via the onlineapplication portal of the Robert Bosch Stiftung.
