Poland’s Independence Day celebrated in HCM City

The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations and the Vietnam-Poland Friendship Association’s HCM City chapter held a get-together in HCM City on December 9 to mark the 98th Independence Day of Poland.

HCM City (VNA) – The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations andthe Vietnam-Poland Friendship Association’s HCM City chapter held aget-together in HCM City on December 9 to mark the 98th IndependenceDay of Poland (November 11, 1918-2016).

Attending the event were Szymon Widarski, Polish Vice Ambassdor to Vietnam, representativesof the Polish community in HCM City and Vietnamese alumni in Poland.

Nguyen Dang Cuong, President of the Vietnam-Poland Friendship Association’s HCMCity chapter, recalled Poland’s struggle for independence, stating that Vietnamand Poland share an aspiration for peace and both are ready to sacrifice forindependence and territorial sovereignty.

Szymon Widarski thanked the HCM City people for bridging the two cultures overthe past time, thus helping strengthen the friendship and mutual understanding betweenthe two countries’ people.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

More than 70,000 women from across the capital city of Hanoi dressed up in Ao dai (traditional long dress) and participated in a folk dance ensemble on October 20 to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi and the 94th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union.

Vietnam attends UNESCO Executive Board’s 220th session in France
