Hanoi (VNA) - The official English versionof the catchy hand-washing song “Ghen Co Vy” was released on April 9 to encouragepeople to adopt personal preventive habits amid the global COVID-19 pandemic, theMinistry of Health (MoH) has announced.
The song is part of a creative health communicationsproject #EndCoV by the MoH’s National Institute of Occupational and EnvironmentalHealth (NIOEH) in collaboration with musician Khac Hung, singers Min and Erik, dancerQuang Dang, and Goodwill Ambassador Chau Bui.
Supported by the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the projecthas already been promoting the Vietnamese version of “Ghen Co Vy” and a hand-washingdance challenge at #ghencovychallenge and #vudieuruatay.
The English version, also featuring sign language, isavailable on MoH’s official website and on YouTube.
With a spirit of “prevention is better than cure”, theproject aims to join hands with the community in building personal preventive habitsand motivate the country’s frontline fighters - doctors, epidemiologists, healthcareworkers, and millions of others who expose themselves daily to the coronavirus.
The Vietnamese version of “Ghen Co Vy” was released inFebruary to explain to people how to wash their hands properly and to take othermeasures to avoid becoming infected.
It has gone viral on YouTube and Tik Tok and was evenfeatured on HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver in the US./.
