From when the war broke out on February 17, 1979to March 18 the same year along the borderline of Ha Tuyen, China sent tworegular military divisions, border guards, and other forces to attack sevenborder districts of the province. Fierce battles took place here not only in1979, but also in 1980, 1981, and 1984, he said.

Soldiers and people of Ha Tuyen provinceheroically fought to safeguard every inch of the Fatherland’s sacred territory,Chung stressed.
