Hanoi (VNA)- Vietnamese Nguyen Thuy Linh triumphed at the Nepal International Series’badminton tournament on December 17 in Kathmandu.

The women’s singles No1 seed defeated Devi Yunit Indah Sari of Indonesia 21-17, 21-16 to win hersecond international trophy.

No 2 seed AbhishekYelegar won the men’s singles title after defeating Siddharath Thakur 21-16,21-14 in an all-Indian final.

The three doublestitles also went to Indian athletes.

The women’s doublestrophy was won by No 1 pair Meghana Jakkampudi and Ram Poorvisha. Also, IndiansRamchanra Shlok and Arjun Madathil Ramachandran took the men’s doublevictory. And Anoushka Parikh and Saurabh Sharma won the mixed doubles.

The NepalInternational Series is one of 38 tournaments held by the Badminton WorldFederation’s International Challenge.

Some 100 athletes tookpart in the event from December 13-17.- VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day
