Nam through to Singapore tennis event’s second round

Hanoi (VNA) - Ly Hoang Nam of Vietnam advanced to the second roundof the Singapore F1 Men’s Futures on May 25.

Nam, who is the No 6 seed, beat Wu Tung-Lin of Chinese Taipei 6-3, 6-3 at theKallang Tennis Centre.

He will next play Kazuki Nishiwaki of Japan, who won 7-6 (3), 6-1 overcountryman Issei Okamura.

Nam is currently the only Vietnamese athlete in Singapore.

Earlier, Nam’s teammate Trịnh Linh Giang was ousted, losing 6-3, 3-6, 1-6 toThailand’s Wishaya Trongcharoen.

Nam and his Indian partner on May 24 earned their berth in thequarter-finals of the doubles event.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day
