NA adopts revised law on signing, joining, implementing int’l treaties

Hanoi (VNA) – The National Assembly approved the revised Law on Signing, Joining and Implementing International Treaties and a resolution on adjusting land use plans to 2020 and the national land use plan for 2016-2020 (last phase) during the April 9 meeting.

The same day, the NA also adopted a resolution ratifying the diplomatic note on the visa agreement between Vietnam and the US.

Also on April 9, the lawmakers approved Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s proposal on the appointment of a number of Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers and other Cabinet members in the form of a secret ballot.

They then adopted resolutions on the approval of the PM on the appointment.

Chair of the National Election Council (NEC) Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan submitted a proposal on dismissing a number of Vice Chairs and members of the NEC.

President Tran Dai Quang presented another proposal on the relief of a number of Vice Chairmen and members of the Council of National Defence and Security.

The proposals were discussed in groups.

The NA will convene a plenary on Monday, April 11 to discuss and vote on resolutions ratifying the dismissal proposals of the NEC Chair and the President.

Lists of candidates for the positions of Vice Chair and membership of the NEC and the Council of National Defence and Security will be discussed, followed by voting procedures.-VNA
