Terrorism remains a threat in Myanmar’s Rakhine State and could cause grave consequences for the region, Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi said in a lecture in Singapore on August 21.

Hanoi (VNA) – Terrorism remains athreat in Myanmar’s Rakhine State and could cause grave consequences for theregion, Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi said in a lecture inSingapore on August 21.

The danger of terrorist activities, which wasthe initial cause of events leading to the humanitarian crisis in Rakhine,remains real and present today, she said.

Unless this security challenge is addressed, itcould cause serious consequences, not just for Myanmar but also for othercountries in the region and beyond, the State Counsellor stressed.-VNA
