Hanoi (VNA) - Myanmar hasopened two new international border checkpoints with India in Tamu andReedhorda towns to facilitate travel on both sides, according to the MyanmarNews Agency.
The Tamu and Reedhorda border checkpoints inSagaing region and Chin state, which respectively link with Moreh and Zowkhawareas of India, were opened simultaneously on August 8.
People holding passports and valid visas will beallowed to enter and exit through these international border checkpoints, thenews agency reported.
The opening was an activity to implement thelandmark Land Border Crossing Agreement signed between the two countries duringa visit to Myanmar by Indian Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj on May11.
During this visit, the two sides also inked sixother agreement and memoranda of understanding.-VNA
