Hanoi (VNA) –Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The and Minister of Natural Resources andEnvironment Tran Hong Ha were grilled by National Assembly (NA) deputies duringthe question-and-answer session on June 4 as part of the NA’s ongoing 5thmeeting.

Minister The, thefirst Cabinet member at the session to be questioned, clarified issues relatedto measures to complete transport infrastructure system and ensure trafficsafety, especially in major cities, and solutions to deal with problems intransport projects invested under the form of build-operate-transfer (BOT).

He also directlyreplied to queries of lawmakers at the session.

Deputy Prime MinisterTrinh Dinh Dung and Finance Minister Dinh Tien Dung join the session to makeclear of related issues.

Concluding the Q&Asession for the Transport Minister, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan alsosuggested a number of issues that the minister should focus on, while askinghim to reply in document questions that he could not answered at the session.

Meanwhile, Minister ofNatural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha delivered a report on the landmanagement in major cities and localities with a large number of complaints anddenunciations, as well as environmental pollution situation and the control ofwaste release of enterprises, and measures to cope with climate change,especially in the Mekong Delta region.

He also gave directanswers to NA deputies.

Earlier, the NAdeputies also discussed a report on supervision result of the settlement ofvoters’ ideas sent to the NA fourth session.

As scheduled, the NAwill continue question-and-answer session on June 5. Like the session on June4, it will also be broadcast live on the national radio Voice of Vietnam andthe Vietnam Television channels.-VNA
