NA to question Government members on four groups of issues

Hanoi (VNA) – The National Assembly is holding question and answer(Q&A) sessions from June 4-6 as part of its ongoing fifth session, whichare broadcast live on national television and radio.

This time, the Q&A will focus on four groups of issues.

The first one relates to solutions to improve transportinfrastructure and ensure traffic safety, especially in big cities, and thesettlement of problems of build-operate-transfer transport projects. Ministerof Transport Nguyen Van The will be the main person to field the questions.

Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Hawill answer queries about land management in big cities and localities with largenumbers of complaints and denunciations, environmental pollution and control ofbusinesses’ waste discharge, and measures to respond to climate change,especially in the Mekong Delta.

Meanwhile, Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nhawill be asked about the situation of tertiary and general education andsolutions to improve learning and teaching quality at those levels, themanagement of preschool education, particularly in non-public establishments,and ways to address moral and lifestyle degradation among teachers andstudents.

Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao NgocDung will field questions about Vietnam’s labour market, vocational training,and child care and protection.

During the Q&A sessions, the deputy prime ministers incharge of relevant fields, other ministers, the Governor of the State Bank ofVietnam, the Inspector General of the Government’s Inspectorate and officialsof the State Audit Office of Vietnam will also give further explanation ofrelated problems.

During the fifth session, the legislative body will for thefirst time introduce a new regulation for question-&-answer activity.Accordingly, each NA deputy can have one minute to put question, and afterthree questions, the Cabinet member has three minutes to make the answer.
