Law building programme tabled for discussion at NA

Hanoi,  (VNA) – A draft programme on law and ordinance buildingfor 2019 and adjustments to the law and ordinance building programme for 2018were presented to the National Assembly in the morning session of the NationalAssembly on May 30.

During the discussion, 15 deputies took the floor, and most of them expressedapproval of the draft programme for 2019 and adjustments to the 2018 plan. Thedeputies also made recommendations on several issues, including the assessmentof the implementation of the law building programme in 2017 and the firstmonths of 2018, as well as solutions and measures to ensure the plan is carriedout on schedule.

Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long and Chairman of the NA Legal Committeegave more information and explanations on some issues raised by the deputies.

Also in the morning, the NA also heard the draft law on adjustments andsupplements to a number of articles of the Law on Higher Education presented byMinister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha.

Chairman of the NA Committee on Culture, Education, Youth Phan Thanh Binhdelivered a report assessing the draft law.

NA deputies spent the afternoon discussing in group the draft law onadjustments and supplements to a number of articles of the Law on HigherEducation.

The NA is scheduled to convene a plenary session in the morning of May31 to listen to a report on the processing and summary of feedback on therevised draft law on corruption control. The morning’s agenda also includes discussionon some contentious contents of the draft law on adjustments and supplements toa number of articles of the Law on Sport and Physical Training.

The revised draft law on corruption control will be the topic of groupdiscussion in the afternoon.-VNA
