Legislators mulled overseveral bills on May 29, the eighth working day of the fifth sitting of the 14th National Assembly.

In the morning, Minister of Education andTraining Phung Xuan Nha, on behalf of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc,presented a proposal of the draft law amending and supplementing a number ofarticles of the Education Law.

Phan Thanh Binh, Chairman of the NationalAssembly’s Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children, delivered areport on assessing the above-said document.

After hearing the National Assembly StandingCommittee’s report on acquiring feedback on the draft Law on Cyber Security, thedeputies deliberated contentious contents of the bill.

They focused on protecting importantinformation about national security and ensuring information security indomestic and foreign agencies and organisations which provide services onlineor own information systems in Vietnam, among others.

In the afternoon, they discussed in groupsthe draft Law on Vietnamese Coast Guard and the revised draft Law on Amnesty.

The lawmakers are scheduled to look into the draftlaw amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on HigherEducation, the programme on building laws and ordinances in 2019 and adjustments of the programme on building laws and ordinancesin 2018 on March 30 morning.

They will work in groups in the afternoon to scrutinize the draftlaws amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Education Law and the Law onHigher Education. -VNA
