Quang Ninh (VNA) – Some 80 mickey-mouse plants (Ochna integerrima) grown on Yen Tu Mountain, the northern province of Quang Ninh, will be on display for the first time at the Ha Long cherry blossom festival 2016, which is scheduled for March 18-21.
The information was announced by Vice Chairman of the Ha Long city People’s Committee Vu Hong Son said at a press conference held on March 10.
He added that meticulous preparation has been made for the festival over the past month.
Along with 60 cherry blossoms brought by Japan and some Vietnamese northern provinces, the festival also features 160 stalls offering Vietnamese and Japanese products.
A conference promoting investment in tourism and trade, particularly the UNESCO-recognised World Natural Heritage of Ha Long Bay, will be held.
Hundreds of thousands of visitors in and outside the country are expected to join the three-day event, which is expected to boost trade and tourism between Vietnamese and Japanese firms, and between Quang Ninh and Japanese localities in particular.-VNA
