Manulife Danang Int’l Marathon 2019 draws over 9,000 runners

The Manulife Danang International Marathon 2019 will take place from August 9-11 at the Bien Dong (East Sea) Park in the central city of Da Nang, according to the municipal Department of Culture and Sports.

Da Nang (VNA) – The Manulife Danang InternationalMarathon 2019 will take place from August 9-11 at the Bien Dong (East Sea) Parkin the central city of Da Nang, according to the municipal Department ofCulture and Sports.

The event is expected to draw more than 9,000 runners,including 2,404 foreigners from 67 countries and territories around the world.

This year, themarathon will include a 10km and a 5km run, along with a Ronny Dash 1km fun runfor children and families.

The run will beassociated with environmental protection activities with the engagement of morethan 1,000 volunteers who will clean Da Nang beaches and gather all plasticwaste along the runway.

The ManulifeDanang International Marathon is an annual event held along Danang’s coastline.This is the first professional Marathon in Vietnam certified by the InternationalAmateur Athletics Association (IAAF) – Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).

Last year, themarathon attracted more than 7,000 runners from 52 countries.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

More than 70,000 women from across the capital city of Hanoi dressed up in Ao dai (traditional long dress) and participated in a folk dance ensemble on October 20 to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi and the 94th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union.
