HCM City (VNA) – The Promotion Fund of Vietnamese Football Talents (PVF) funded by Vingroup, on March 3, inked a deal with Japan’s Gamba Osaka FC in a youth training programme.
Accordingly, Gamba Osaka will send Coach Machinaka to Vietnam to coach PVF players for two years, and also bring the best Vietnamese athletes to Japan for further training at their headquarters.
The club will sign contracts with those who are able to compete in the J. League.
Sending experts to the PVF, Gamba Osaka does not only bring to Vietnam Japanese-style training methods but also looks for the best Vietnamese talent to join the club in the future, an official of Gamba Osaka FC, Uenoyama, said.
Gamba Osaka is the second international partner that PVF has worked with, after Busan I’Park of the Republic of Korea, which began cooperating in 2013.
The 35-year-old Japanese club is a professional team, currently playing in J. League 1. They finished in second place last season.
The PVF provides training for 175 players in Ho Chi Minh City. It is offering admission to 120 trainees for its eighth class this year, 50 of whom will be selected in August to sign contracts with the organisation in 10 years.-VNA
