Hanoi (VNA) – The National Assembly (NA) approved several laws aside from relieving Nguyen Tan Dung from duty as Prime Minister on April 6.

The laws passed were the Law on Access to Information; the revised Law on Pharmaceuticals; the Law on amending and supplementing several articles to the Laws on Value Added Tax, Special Consumption Tax and Tax Management; and the revised Law on Import Duty and Export Duty.

During the day, NA deputies mulled over the dismissal of Nguyen Tan Dung from the Government leader position after a proposal to relieve him was submitted by President Tran Dai Quang.

They agreed, by secret ballot, to let Nguyen Tan Dung leave office and later adopted a resolution on his relief.

After that, President Tran Dai Quang submitted the candidate for the Prime Minister post.

The new Cabinet chief is scheduled to be elected on April 7.

Additionally, the NA will vote on the removal of the Vice President, the Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court, and the Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy. It will also look into the candidates who will replace them.-VNA
