Hanoi (VNA) - Six Korean archers of the Doosan team that won the silver medal in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics are training members of the Vietnamese national archery team in Hanoi.
The training, which began on December 4, is part of the national team’s preparation for international competitions. It is expected that it will help Vietnamese archers pick skills and develop mental toughness for tough competitions ahead.
The training session, which closes this weekend, is part of a six-year cooperation programme signed in 2013 by Doosan Vina and the National Sports Administration.
The agreement provides financial assistance, equipment, skills and technical training for Vietnamese archers.
The six-member Doosan team, founded in 1994, has won several awards in international meets, including a silver medal at the Olympics in Atlanta.
The Vietnamese archers will also undergo training courses in the Republic of Korea under the sponsorship by Doosan Vina, a heavy industrial complex, through 2019.
Doosan had donated four sets of hi-tech bows worth 9,500 USD to Vietnamese archers in 2014.-VNA
