Hanoi (VNA) – The Japanese cherry blossom festival in the framework of theJapan-Vietnam Culture Exchange Festival in Hanoi will be extended one more day toMarch 27 to meet the enjoyment of locals and visitors.
Accordingto the event’s organising board, this is the third consecutive year the periodfor the cherry blossom display is extended in comparison to the initial schedule.
After three days of opening, the festival attracted 100,000 visitors, the boardsaid.
Around50 cherry blossom trees and 30,000blossom branches are being displayed at Ly Thai To Square, Hoan Kiem district,along with various types of flowers planted in Vietnam.
The event also featured food pavilions andmulti-cultural dances, including Yosakoi – a unique style of dance in Japanperformed by large teams, and Vietnamese traditional art forms such as “xam”(blind wanderers’ music) and “ca tru” (ceremonial singing) as well as aconference to promote bilateral tourism and investment cooperation.
The festival is expected to help Vietnamesepeople to understand better about Japanese land, culture and people in additionto boosting collaboration in culture, tourism and economy.-VNA
