Hanoi (VNA) – The international U15 girls’ football tournament kicked offin Hanoi on September 1 night.
Teams from Myanmar, Hong Kong(China), Iceland and host Vietnam will compete in a round robin format. Theteam with the most points will be champions.
This event is one of projects under the UEFA Assist Programme that focuses ondeveloping youth football.
The Vietnamese girls lost to their Myanmar rivals 0-3 in a match that tookplace right after the opening ceremony. Earlier, U15 Iceland won 8-0 over U15Hong Kong.
The Vietnamese players will face Hong Kong girls and Iceland will meet Myanmaron September 3.
To prepare for the competition, coach Le Tuan Long and the Vietnamese players startedtraining since early August.-VNA
