International women’s volleyball tourney opens

The 11th international women’s volleyball tournament – VTV9 Binh Dien Cup kicked off in the southern province of Tay Ninh on April 22.

Tay Ninh (VNA) – The 11thinternational women’s volleyball tournament – VTV9 Binh Dien Cup kicked off inthe southern province of Tay Ninh on April 22.

Three Vietnamese teams namely VTV Binh DienLong An, Vietinbank and LienVietPostBank will compete with five foreign teamsfrom Thailand, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, China and Kazakhstan.

The teams are divided into two groups. Thefirst and second ranking teams of each group will be qualified for thesemi-finals, while the remaining will compete to identify their rankings.

The tournament runs until April 30 with 20 matches in total. This is the firsttime Tay Ninh province has hosted such an international tournament.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

A cultural festival has been held in Uijeongbu city of the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Gyeonggi province to mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Association (VWA) in the country.

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

Vietnam attends UNESCO Executive Board’s 220th session in France
