On display are 80 maps and documentswritten in ancient Chinese, Vietnamese and French languages, four atlasesfeaturing maps published in the UK, Germany, Australia, Canada and the US, andothers archived by the Vietnamese republic administration from 1954 to 1975.
Speaking at the opening ceremony,Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Phan Dinh Phung said theevent aims to affirm Vietnam’s sovereignty over the two archipelagoes andrefute distorted and untrue allegations while awakening patriotism ofVietnamese people in the national defence cause.
Photos capturing the waters andislands of Phu Yen are also exhibited at the event, which will last tillDecember 14./.
