Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) - The Ho Chi Minh Trail has been listed among 11 prominent nationalheritage sites, according to a recent announcement from the Ministry ofCulture, Sports and Tourism.
In Vietnam, the site isknown as the Truong Son Trail, which illustrates the military trail runningacross the Truong Son Mountain Range. The trail runs through the provinces ofQuang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam, Kon Tum and Binh Phuoc.
The central region hasanother four heritage recognised in the ministry’s decision. They are theChampa Nhan Tower in Phu Yen, the Le Hoan temple of worship in Thanh Hoa, BuonMa Thuot’s purnishing house in Dak Lak, and Marble Mountain in Da Nang.
The remaining sitesincluded in the list of 11 are those located in the northern delta. They arethe Thai Lac Pagoda in Hung Yen, Tho Tang Temple in Vinh Phuc, and Na Hang-LamBinh nature reserve in Tuyen Quang.
The capital city of Hanoihas three. They are Tuong Phieu Temple in Phuc Tho district, So Temple in QuocOai district, and Dong Da Mound in Dong Da district.
The recognition is partof the ministry’s attempt to highlight the cultural and historical values ofbuildings and landscapes. According to the ministry, the recognition is alsomeaningful for the protection of the country’s ancient legacy.
The ministry regulatesresponsibility of local authorities where the heritage item is based inprotecting the buildings and landscapes.-VNA
