HCM City (VNA) – Some 400 delegates from 20 countries and territories will attend the 21st Annual Conference of the Asian Science Park Association (ASPA) scheduled for October 19-21 in Ho Chi Minh City.
The event, themed “Science Parks in Empowering Growth Quality andCompetitiveness of National Economy”, aims to exchange new models andorganisations of Asian science parks, said Le Hoai Quoc, head of the SaigonHi-Tech Park Management Board at a press conference on October 12.
He also stated that Ho Chi Minh City will take the occasion to introduce itsscience-technology development and hi-tech industry to improve its economy’sgrowth quality and competitiveness.
The conference will create an opportunity for Vietnamese managers, scientistsand intellectuals to exchange and learn experience in hi-tech development from theirforeign peers, he added.
Some 50 reports on science parks will be presented at the event.
On the occasion, enterprises from the southern hub of Vietnam and ASPA memberswill organise an exhibition showcasing their standout products. Outstandingstart-ups and hi-tech products will be honoured on the sidelines of theconference.
ASPA is an international non-governmental organisation established in Japan in1997 to promote development in the fields of science and technology, industryand economy in Asia. It now has 138 members, including three in Vietnam- SaigonHi-tech Park, Da Nang Hi-tech Park and Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park.-VNA
