HCM City (VNA)- The Ho Chi Minh City  People’s Committee has approved a 1/2000 scaleplan for the city’s second science and technology park to be built in District9 at a cost of around 4.3 trillion VND (188 million USD).

To come up in Long Phuoc wardnear the Hi-Tech Park, the 200ha park will have distinct zones for research andapplication of advanced technologies, fabrication of high-quality products,incubation of start-ups and high-tech training for workers.

It will also collaboratewith the High-Tech Park to adopt the latter’s latest technologies.

Its innovations will focuson information technology, renewable energy, energy storage, space technology,automation, and bio-medical engineering.

The park is expected tohire 15,000 people when it is up and running.

The Quang Trung SoftwareCity (QTSC) in District 12 was the first science park to be set in the city andis the biggest in the country, covering an area of 430,000sq.m.

Established in 2001, QTSChouses around 140 Information and Communication Technology companies, withforeign firms accounting for nearly half, which employ 20,455 workers andresearchers.

It targets becoming one oftop 10 software parks in providing human resources and valued-added services inAsia by 2020.-VNA
