Hanoi (VNA) – Nguyen Diep Phuong Tram from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam,won four gold medals and set a record at the first day of the Southeast AsianAge Group Swimming Championship in Thailand on December 10.

The 15-year-old girl won two titlesin the relay events and two individual categories. She set a new competitionrecord in the women’s 100m backstroke with a time of 1min 4.65sec.

She also pocketed silvers in the400m freestyle and 200m individual medley.

Other Vietnamese athletes broughthome 10 golds, 10 silvers, 12 bronzes and three records to secure the top placein the ranking table for Vietnam in the day.

Thailand and Indonesia are secondand third, respectively.

The tournament for swimmers from13-18 years old concluded on December 11.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

Vietnam attends UNESCO Executive Board’s 220th session in France
