The certificates will be awardedat a festival featuring tourism products of traditional craft villagesof Hanoi and Red River Delta scheduled from October 8-12, said MaiTien Dung, deputy head of the municipal Department of Culture, Sportsand Tourism on October 3.
The threespecialties include Pho (noodle soup served with beef and chicken); Buncha (rice noodle served with grilled pork); and Bun thang (ricevermicelli soup served with chicken, fried egg strands, lean meat piestrands and mushroom).
Also on theoccasion, another six dishes will be awarded certificates by the VietnamRecord’s Organisation, including Cha ca (fried fish served with noodlesand scallions) La Vong; Banh cuon (steamed rolled rice pancake) ThanhTri; Mo (apricot) Huong Son; Canh orange; Banh com (green rice flakecake) Hang Than; and O mai (salted dry fruits) Hang Duong.
Food has been embedded as a Hanoi ’s typical cultural characteristic and unique tourism product.
In the time to come, the city tourism will continue its efforts topromote Vietnamese dishes to the world by including them intomultilingual leaflets and booklets at tourism fairs.-VNA
