Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi will organize a number of cultural and artistic activitiesto celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) festival, which lasts fromFebruary 5-7.
Alongwith decorating streets, the city will erect a number of celebrative symbolsand works to place in crossroads, big squares and along main streets.
Tenkey streets of the city, including Trang Tien, Trang Thi, Hang Bai, Ba Trieu,Hai Ba Trung, Phan Chu Trinh, Ngo Quyen, Thanh Nien, Dien Bien Phu and NguyenThai Hoc, will be lightened up with colourful lighting systems.
Accordingto the city Department of Culture and Sports, the pedestrian streets aroundHoan Kiem Lake will be decorated with fresh flowers, while decoration archways willbe erected in Vo Nguyen Giap street.
High-rangeand low-range firework shows will be organized in different areas of the city,while art performances will be held at public places in all 30 wards anddistricts to serve locals.
Hanoiwill organise mobile film screenings to serve audiences in all districts andwards, especially in remote areas, industrial parks and export processing zonesacross the city.
OnFebruary 16-17, or the 12th and 13th days of the firstlunar month, a dragon boat racing festival will take place in West Lake.-VNA
