Golden Ball award winners announced

Midfielder Do Hung Dung of Hanoi FC and striker Cu Huynh Nhu of HCM City Club won the Golden Ball award for player of the year on May 26.

HCMCity (VNA) – Midfielder Do Hung Dung of Hanoi FC and striker Cu HuynhNhu of HCM City Club won the Golden Ball award for player of the year on May 26.

In the men’s category, Dung’steammate Nguyen Quang Hai finished runner-up, followed by Nguyen Trong Hoang ofViettel.

Dung captained Vietnam to the title at the SEA Games 2019 after many yearsof waiting, and put in outstanding performances at both national andclub level.

Meanwhile, Nhu won the women's award. She was a key player for the Vietnam nationalteam, helping them win the SEA Games for the sixth time.

Nhu’s teammate Chuong Thi Kieu finished second, while Nguyen Thi TuyetDung of Phong Phu Ha Nam was third.

Doan Van Hau of Hanoi FC was named the best young maleplayer and Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan of HCM Citypicked up the prize in the female category.

The best foreign player award went to Pape Omar Faye of Hanoi FC. Theplayer from Senegal was a key player for the team as they took theV.League 1 2019 title and reached the AFC Cup final.

In futsal, Tran Van Vu of Thai Son Nam won the Golden Ball Award, followedby Nguyen Minh and Pham Duc Hoa.

Meanwhile, coaches Mai Duc Chung and Park Hang-seo received the Devotion Awardfor their contributions to Vietnamese football.

The Vietnamese Golden Ballaward was started in 1995 by Sai Gon Giai Phong (LiberatedSaigon) newspaper with coaches, experts and journalists voting for the bestplayers./.

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day
