Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese national football team'sgoalkeeper Dang Van Lam has been signed by Muangthong United FC of Thailand.

The Thai team paid a transfer fee of 3 billionVND (130,000 USD) to Hai Phong FC for his services.

The three-year deal will pay Lam 10,000 USD amonth. The club will also provide him with an apartment and a car.

Lam is a rising star in the region after heplayed a key role in Vietnam’s ASEAN Football Federation Cup triumph. He wasalso voted the best keeper of the tournament and was selected in the Cup’s BestXI.

"After the AFF Cup success, I receivepeople’s attention and support as well as favourable conditions if I keepplaying in Vietnam. But I don’t want to stay in the ‘safe zone’, I want to facewith challenges to have new experiences in my career” Lam said.

Lam, 25, will move to Thailand after the end ofthe Asian Cup in the UAE. The Thai League 1 will kick off on February 22.-VNA
