Following the opening ceremony,visitors feasted their eyes on dazzling kite performances andcompetitions by some 70 Vietnamese artisans and 60 others from 21countries and territories.
From now until May 12, the biennialevent will also offer a kite making course taught by experiencedartisans and kite exhibitions.
Ho Van Loi, Director of theprovincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that this is agood opportunity for Vietnamese kite aficionados to exchange experiencewith foreign ones in the art of kites, while also promoting thehospitality of Vietnam to the world.
This year’s event, themed “Flying with Vietnam”, is the fifth that Ba Ria-Vung Tau has held so far.-VNA
