The competition, included three stages from Dap Suoi Vang (GoldenStream Dam) to Thung Lung Tinh Yeu (Love Valley), from Thung Lung TinhYeu to Dap Suoi Vang and the surrounding of Thung Lung Tinh Yeu in theCentral Highlands province of Lam Dong, closed on March 22.
Canadian rider Cory Wallace won the men’s professional event as hecompleted the three stages in the terrain of Da Lat city and Lac Duongdistrict covering a total length of 150km with a time of 6 hours 6minutes.
The second place belonged to Germanrider Bastian Dohling, who was two minutes more than Wallace, and the7th Military Region’s Vietnamese Phung Van Loc came in third.
In the women’s category, Sarah Kaufmann of the United States tookfirst place with a time of 8 hours 3 minutes. Dang Thi Ngoc Huyen andTran Thi Kim Anh, both from southern Dong Thap province were in secondand third place, respectively.
The organisers also handed out several prizes to amateur cyclists of various age brackets.
The tournament, which was held for the first time in Lam Dong, attracted 90 riders from Vietnam and 10 other countries.-VNA
