Football tournament held to mark 50 years of Vietnam-Belgium ties

A football tournament of the General Union of Vietnamese in Brussels (UGVB) took place on August 13 with the participation of six teams.

Brussels (VNA) – Afootball tournament of the General Union of Vietnamese in Brussels (UGVB) tookplace on August 13 with the participation of six teams.

Xay Dung FC won the cup whileFC Bao Ngoc Quang Binh and Choa FC came second and third, respectively.

Speaking at the awardingceremony, Vu Thu Thuy, Deputy Ambassador of Vietnam to Belgium, spoke highly ofthe UGVB’s efforts in organising the tournament.

Thuy said she expects thecommunity will continue to promote similar activities to strengthen solidaritywith the country and celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relationsbetween Vietnam and Belgium.

For his part, Huynh Cong My, UGVB’spresident, expressed his hope that from next year, the football tournament willbecome an annual event to enrich the activities of the Vietnamese community./.

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi
