Football Channel Asia picks Vietnamese U23 footballers

Four Vietnamese U23 footballers have been picked for the Team of the Tournament following the 28th SEA Games by the Football Channel Asia (FCA), a dedicated Asian football website.

Theyare Captain Que Ngoc Hai, winger Vo Huy Toan, forward Nguyen CongPhuong and Mac Hong Quan. Quan is a substitute in the formation

The site also gave brief descriptions of the role and influence of each player in the formation.

According to the FCA, young defender Hai was the driving force behindmany of his team’s incisive counter-attacks as he brought the ball outof the defensive zone with invention and quick pace as well as his greatvision and strength in the tackle to build a strong defensive line.

Cong Phuong led the team from the front, literally winning matches for Vietnam to haul them into the semi-final.

Meanwhile, though Vietnam did not progress to the final stage, Vo HuyToan was simply superb during the tournament as the 22-year-oldproduced an impressive attack display from his left winger position.

The SHB Da Nang winger became the one ofcompetition’s top goal-scorers with five goals along with Thailandstriker Chananan Pombuppha and Myanmar youngster Sithu Aung.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

A cultural festival has been held in Uijeongbu city of the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Gyeonggi province to mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Association (VWA) in the country.

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

Vietnam attends UNESCO Executive Board’s 220th session in France
