Tokyo (VNA) – AVietnamese Tet (Lunar New Year) Festival will be held for the first time inFukuoka, the largest city in Japan’s Kyushu island, on January 12, 2020.
The event is the joint effort ofthe Vietnamese General Consulate in Fukuoka and the Association of Vietnamesein the city.
As planned, the traditionalcultural space of Vietnamese Tet will be recreated at Tenjin park, allowing theoverseas Vietnamese community to get a feeling of the home country through traditionalTet dishes and folk games.
Several popular artists andsingers in Vietnam will be invited to the event, which is expected to draw morethan 1,000 visitors, both Vietnamese and Japanese.
There are more than 33,000Vietnamese currently living in Kyushu./.
