HCM City (VNA) – The first Vietnam agriculturalmaterials festival will take place in the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Longfrom March 23-29, together with the 2018 Vinh Long agriculture, industry andtrade expo.

The information was revealed by Director of the provincialIndustrial and Trade Department Pham Tu Phuong at a press conference held in HoChi Minh City on March 2.

The events offer chances for farmers in the delta to accessnew advances in agricultural production and materials, he said. Agricultural materialshave been a pressing issue over the years as there are various fake and lowquality fertilisers and pesticides in Vietnam’s market.

They will be not only a bridge linking trade activitiesbetween domestic and foreign businesses, but also an opportunity for the MekongDelta and Vinh Long province in particular to affirm potential in the country’seconomic development strategy.

They are part of activities to promote Vinh Long’sinvestment in 2018, which has so far seen the registration of nearly 1,000participants.

Similar events on various themes are expected to be held indifferent localities, such as a seafood festival in Kien Giang province and arice festival in Long An province at year’s end.-VNA
