The project, part of activities launched by the New Zealand Embassy inVietnam to mark the 40th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties,is the first in the area of fashion between the two countries.
New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam Haike Manning described educationand tourism as important foundation for the two peoples’ connections,adding that the project aims to provide their youth with an opportunityto cooperate to create modern and unique fashion styles and learn aboutthe two countries’ cultural values and similarities.
Currently, 10 groups of students with each consisting of one fromVietnam and one from New Zealand , are nurturing their ideas andworking with each other by using the Internet and information technologyskills, he noted.
They have two months to design new collections before their designs are made public in Ho Chi Minh City on August 6.-VNA
