Launched on August 26, the event aims to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962 – 2022),the 45th year of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty for Amityand Cooperation, and the 55th anniversary of the Vietnam-Cambodiadiplomatic ties (June 24, 1967 – 2022).
Vietnam has boasted long-standing and close friendship andcooperation with the other two countries in various areas, particularly national defence and security, remarkedLieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Toan, Director of the Vietnamese Ministry ofPublic Security’s Department of Party and Political Work, at the openingceremony.
On the basis of treaties and agreements signed by the threecountries’ leaders, the Ministries of Public Security of Vietnam and Laos, theCambodian Ministry of Interior and authorities and peoples of shared borderregions have been actively coordinating to intensify security and social orderand prevent sabotage schemes, contributing to protecting the stability anddevelopment of each country and the region, he said.
In addition to security maintenance and crime combat, thethree sides have made concerted efforts in personnel training, logistics,medical and technical matters in order to build strong and capable publicsecurity forces, Toan added.
The exhibition is divided into three sections, with the firstdemonstrating the three Parties, States and Governments’ attention and appreciationfor the forces. The second and the third focus on the Vietnamese force’scollaboration with those from Laos and Cambodia, reflected through high-leveldelegation exchanges and the support for each other in crime fighting.
The event is taking place at Museum of People’s PublicSecurity in downtown Hanoi until September 11./.
