The event is held by Vietnam NationalDocumentary and Scientific Film Studio and European Union National Institutesfor Culture (EUNIC).
Films from 11 European countries andregions will be shown, namely Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France,Israel, Spain, Switzerland, the UK and Wallonie-Bruxelles, along with Vietnameseworks.
Audiences have the opportunity tounderstand the countries, people, cultures of many countries throughdocumentary films, Nguyen Nhu Vu, the studio’s acting director, said at thepress conference in Hanoi on June 6.
This festival brings some films which havewon prizes at international film festival, he said, expressing his hope thatthe ninth festival will be a great success and bring exciting moments to theaudiences.
One Vietnamese and one European film will be screened each night during thefestival.
On the occasion of the 100th birthdaycelebration of Swedish director Ingmar Bergman, the film Ingmar Bergman throughthe Choreographer’s Eye will open the festival at 7pm. The Vietnamese filmProfessor Ton That Tung - A Revered Teacher will be shown that night. Thescreen will have English and Vietnamese subtitles.-VNA
